Monroe’s Triple bill of Irish rock and trad talent

Hotly-tipped Pauric O Meara from Tipp is on Monroe's December triple bill.

Hotly-tipped Pauric O Meara from Tipp is on Monroe's December triple bill.

An enthralling triple headline show takes place at Monroe’s Live on Saturday, December 2, with independent pop-rock singer Pauric O’Meara, acclaimed contemporary trad band Seo Linn and indie-pop rock sensations The Valmonts.

Hailing from Co Tipperary, O’Meara has supported the likes of Hermitage Green and Hudson Taylor, and made his Electric Picnic debut in 2019.

Members of the multi award-winning trad group Seo Linn have been on an upward trajectory since their version of Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’ catapulted them into the limelight.

Together, Stiofán Ó Fearail, Kevin Shortall, Daithí Ó Ruaidh and Keith Ó Briain have introduced an international audience to the Irish language, through their high energy performances. They can move effortlessly from rollicking upbeat numbers to delicate and soulful ballads, delivering power pop with a folk twist.

This unique fusion has brought them all over the world, performing and headlining festivals like the Milwaukee Irish Fest in the US, Groundswell Music Festival in Australia, and Celtic Wave Festival in Italy.

Galway band The Valmonts is a four-piece, indie pop-rock band comprising brother Darragh and Keith Whyte, alongside Cathal Sweeney and Tymek Kocurkiewicz.

Having debuted in Dublin muso venue Whelans, The Valmonts have an unconventional approach to indie-pop, with their influences ranging from INXS and New Radicals to Prince.

Catch this triple bill of Irish talent at Monroe’s Live on Saturday, December 2, at 10pm.
