Dott to give Heart Swell official launch tonight

Album launch takes place in Róisín Dubh with support from Cherym and Bob Skeleton

'GOOD THINGS come to those who wait' as the old saying goes, and that is certainly the case with Dott's second album Heart Swell, which gets it's official launch in the Róisín Dubh tonight.

Heart Swell, released in May via Graveface Records, is the follow up to the Galway quartet's 2013 debut Swoon, and, as noted in the Galway Advertiser previously, is "everything you want a follow-up to be, and everything you need it to be".

Heart Swell retains the vocal harmony driven indie-pop and garage/punk fusion of Swoon, but here, in both scope and execution, the elements flow together much more smoothly (witness 'Not Sorry', 'How Do I Feel', 'U Don't Have 2' ), resulting in songs and performances that are more confident, assured, and ambitious. While the band's signature sound - a harmony driven, indie-pop/garage rock, fusion - continues, the album introduces new elements, complementing and expanding Dott's sonic template. The title track has a Krautrock vibe with its insistent beat and atmospherics, while elements of psychedelia and dream pop are also apparent ('Swim' ) - all hinting at interesting possible future directions.

Doors for the show are 9pm and admission is free. Support is from Cherym and Bob Skeleton.
