Exhibitions of icon paintings

The In Her Shoes exhibition, which will be hosted by Ballina Family Resource Centre to mark the 16 days of Action Opposing Violence Against Women, will commence on November 25 and run until December 10. This exhibition represents the 146 women who have been murdered in Ireland since 1996. There will be outreach services available in Ballina FRC by Mayo Women Support Services and the Rape Crisis Centre during the 16 days of Action. For further information contact 096 75573.

Hallowe’en Ball a scary success!

The Marie Carolan Foundation Hallowe’en Ball which took place at the Broadhaven Bay Hotel showcased an array of fancy dress, and Marie Carolan turned up for the event, where she picked the winner of a brand new Ford Focus, with Seán Doherty from Ceathrú Thaidhg being the lucky winner. Pamela O’Donnell from Attycunane, Belmullet, won the second prize of a 40-inch television.
