Tógra Mhaigh Eó is organising Irish summer camps all over Mayo during the summer. These camps are aimed at children aged from seven to 13 and activities include cooking classes, drama, art, music, dance, pottery, sport, etc. The camps are held for one week and only cost €60.

Deputy Michael Ring has accused the Government of turning its back on the west of Ireland by delaying vital infrastructural projects. The Fine Gael spokesperson on community, rural, and Gaeltacht affairs, Deputy Michael Ring, said he was particularly frustrated over the inordinate delay in extending the Lough Mask Regional Water Supply Scheme from Srah to Westport.

Minister for Labour Affairs, Dara Calleary has welcomed the provision of flashing lights at Behymore National School on the outskirts of Ballina. The road safety measures were recently installed on the main thoroughfares to the school providing much needed traffic calming in the vicinity of the school.

Fergus McAllister, Mayo Green Party chairperson, urged the new Westport Town Council to oversee the introduction of a brown bin collection for the town as soon as possible so that bio-waste such as grass cuttings or food can be separated and utilised, instead of going to landfill.
