Special Olympics table quiz
Special Olympics Kayak Club Castlebar, are hosting a table quiz in Bosh, Castlebar on Wednesday, March 5 to raise funds to bring the athletes to the national qualifiers for the 2015 LA World Games. Tables of four cost €40 and it will start at 9pm sharp.
No enterprise ready building in Castlebar

Kiltimagh could have a company with a 150 strong workforce set up in the morning, thanks to having a state-of-the art enterprise ready office building with fibre broadband, something that is not available in Castlebar. That is something that the county town needs if it is to be serious about attracting new businesses, the members of Castlebar Town Council were told last week.
As part of his presentation on job creation, Tom Canavan (Castlebar Chamber) pointed out to the members that Castlebar is the only town of its size in the country that doesn’t have a metropolitan area network (MAN) and that high-speed broadband, along with improved roads and electricity connections, were vital to attracting business.

St Colman’s College, Claremorris, teacher Majella Kelly, is one of 14 writers to have been nominated for the Cúirt New Writing Award for poetry. Ms Kelly, who teaches English and French in the school, will be hoping her poetry can bring her success when the awards are handed out at the Cúirt International Festival of Literature which takes place in Galway from Tuesday April 8 to Sunday April 13.
