A €255 million investment in a renewable energy project in Killala that could be a springboard for the economic development of North Mayo - is being put at risk because of an inexplicable delay in granting licences by the Energy Regulator, Mayo Fine Gael Senator Michelle Mulherin has warned.

Minister Ring said: “The latest CSO report shows that in Mayo the number of people on the Live Register has dropped again with the numbers of people signing on down by 812 since the same time last year. The Live Register has decreased by 48% since Fine Gael launched its Action Plan for Jobs in 2012.

Despite another year of growth in 2018, business sentiment among hotels in Mayo and across the country has dropped significantly - according to the latest hotel barometer from the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF).
