She has a first class honours degree in theoretical physics from UCD, she is a regular on our TV screens as a panellist on RTÉ’s flagship satire programme The Panel, she is well known for her exploits on Celebrity Bainisteoir with the Kiltimagh GAA club and now Mayo’s multi-talented 2005 Rose of Tralee winner Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin is set to take to the stage as she joins Ragús for their spectacular homecoming tenth anniversary show on November 8 at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar.

Premier of new Bond film in aid of Ballina Arts Centre

Following the show, attendees will be invited to enjoy a complementary martini (shaken not stirred) at Brennans Bar where an entire evening of Bond themed entertainment is planned.

In asociation with Karen Conway’s current fundraising for CARI (Children at Risk in Ireland) Finbar Hoban expertly organised a night of musical brilliance with local bands Hot Rock, Mother Black Cap (a little venture away for Kneel Before Zod) and Curlisduane.

Hot on the heels of two triumphant West End seasons and three hugely successful UK tours, the show cut loose and onto the stage in August to kick off the UK and Ireland tour as public demand for the show continues to grow.

RoolaBoola 2008, the Linenhall Arts Centre’s fun-packed 11th annual arts festival for young people, is on its way with a packed programme of quality shows, events and workshops, as set out in all its glory in the pulsating RoolaBoola brochure (available from the Linenhall, or on the new-look Linenhall website www.thelinenhall.com )

For this year’s RoolaBoola, some of the finest of international children’s theatre will be appearing at the Linenhall Arts Centre, with NIE’s brave and uplifting story of wartime displacement The End of Everything Ever, La Società della Civetta’s charming sensory eco-show Droplets, Lyngo Theatre’s captivating retelling of Hansel and Gretel, and Shona Reppe’s magical puppetry in Olga Volt. And that’s far from all! Cahoots NI presents a fantastical flea circus experience, The Flea Pit, musicians Emer Mayock and Robbie Harris open up the world of Traditional music in The Session, Tom Meskell’s The Ant Farm presents a strange and mysterious world of wonder, while Fables, Tales and Tattlers gives a hilarious new take on the world of fairy tales.

Next Saturday night October 18 sees the poptastic, hooktastic, girl/boy-tastic. Fun loving, floor-filling, indie-rock bubblegum pop! Of the brilliant Limerick group We Should Be Dead perform live at Bar Ritz (Mulroys Bar) Castlebar. Award nominations, heavy press reviews, and a must see live status are just some of the accolades this irish boy/girl four piece have achieved. Since exploding onto the music scene in 2007. The band’s debut single “Forget Romance Let”s Dance! Made a huge impact on its release in November 2007, landing at number three in the Irish download charts, with the promo video being one of the most requested on popular irish music channels. The bands debut album was released this Feburary in Ireland to critical acclaim. Upon the release of the second single “I Fell In Love With You”, the band were invited to play at Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club, where many hailed them as the highlight of the week.
