Gift Grub live at the Royal tomorrow night

Fri, Oct 29, 2010

The brainchild of comedian and satirist Mario Rosenstock, the phenomenal Gift Grub returns to Castlebar after their previous sell out show last April. With nine top five albums and more than half a million CD sales, Gift Grub is the biggest selling Irish comedy/spoken word CD of all time. The song was subsequently released, with Mourinho's blessing, as a hit single. Similarly in December 2005, a parody of Will Young's song 'Leave Right Now' relating to the events surrounding Roy Keane's dismissal from Manchester United was released as a charity single and went straight in at the number one position on the Irish Christmas charts.

Áras Inis Gluaire bringing the best of entertainment to Erris

Fri, Oct 29, 2010

Cineclub na nÓg
Cineclub na nÓg is a junior film club, for children aged five to 12, which aims to foster a sense of film appreciation among children in an educational and fun way. They will enjoy the film in the state-of-the-art auditorium and, afterwards, the children will talk about the film with the facilitators – chat about what happened, discuss their favourite characters and their least favourite personalities, draw pictures based on the film etc. This fully supervised bilingual club is a great way to encourage the children to express themselves as Gaeilge and as Bearla outside school, in a fun, informal, environment. Depending on the success of Cineclub na nÓg (which may run twice a month), Áras Inis Gluaire would like to establish an Irish language Club Óige, to cover all aspects of speaking and learning Irish in a fun way. The first Cineclub na nÓg gathering will take place on Saturday, November 6, at 1pm. Children must be picked up at 3.30pm sharp. Admission is €10 per child. Family discount of 15 per cent applies. It is important to register your child before Thursday November 4 by e-mailing Rosemarie at [email protected] or call 097 81079.

Whose Line Is It Anyway? at the Royal

Fri, Oct 22, 2010

Five brave performers will arrive with no script and not the faintest idea of what will happen. Willed on by a supportive crowd, through improvisation they create whole sketches and comic dramas that are amazingly inventive and sometimes take off into flights of surreal brilliance. The TV show of the same name, Whose Line Is it Anyway? Is a pale imitation when compared to this live show. The live show will take to the stage in the Royal Theatre on Saturday October 23 at 9pm.
