Knockranny included in new Bridgestone Good Food Guide

The new Bridgestone Irish Food Guide, released every two and a half years, is just out and includes a glowing review of Knockranny House Hotel. Author John McKenna said that the book contains “all the good stuff and only the good stuff”, and also advised that Mayo is the most improved county in the country. When the last issue of the food guide came out Mayo only had nine pages – this year there are 15.

According to the Central Statistics Office (CSO), farm incomes will have fallen by 30 per cent at the end of 2009, this is on top of a 10 per cent drop in 2008. Clearly, the farming industry is in crisis as this figure signifies the biggest drop since Ireland joined the EEC in 1973.

Another win for Knockranny House Hotel

Knockranny House Hotel and Spa was one of three winners in the Best Consumer Service category at the National Hospitality Awards which were held recently.

The annual competition is open to entries from all over Ireland, both North and South, and has 19 different categories. The Best Consumer Service category awards hotels for their outstanding service and judges were particularly impressed by Knockranny House Hotel’s high standard of consumer care and their attention to detail.
