The Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann concert - Tour of Champions - comes to the Welcome Inn Hotel in Castlebar on Saturday night, at 8.30pm. It has been almost 30 years since the tour, one of the highlights of the Comhaltas year, came to Castlebar. The show features the cream of traditional music talent from the four provinces of Ireland.

Talk, The Hang House Stories

Museum of Country Life, Turlough, Saturday

Prison historian Séan Reynolds is to deliver a talk about Mountjoy Prison, past and present, in conjunction with the exhibition Preserving the Peace, at the Museum of Country Life, Turlough, on Saturday from 3pm to 4pm.

Visual art, John Gibbons

Custom House Studios, Westport, ongoing

An exhibition of work by well-known Clare sculptor John Gibbons is now on display at the Custom House Studios, Westport.

Mr Gibbons has spent time working at the Heinrich Boll Cottage on Achill Island and at the Ballinglen Foundation in Ballycastle.

The exhibition is a series of drawings inspired by the landcape of Achill and the north Mayo coastline and also some recent sculpture works.

The exhibition continues until November 2.

Tribute show, Dolly Parton

Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet, tonight

Fans of Dolly Parton can enjoy a tribute to the queen of country tonight at 8 pm at Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet.

Heidi McCaffrey presents her show Singing the Songs and Telling the Story of Dolly Parton which will trace Parton’s life from her impoverished upbringing in Tennessee, her rise to fame, and eventual worldwide success.

At the movies, Gone Girl

Mayo Movie World, Castlebar

One of this season’s biggest box office successes, Gone Girl, starring Ben Affleck and based on the global bestseller of the same name by Gillian Flynn, is still showing at Mayo Movie World in Castlebar.

The movie follows the story of Nick Dunne, who on the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, reports that his beautiful wife Amy has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and growing media frenzy, Nick's portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits, and strange behaviour have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?
