Pretend Sick promises rip- roaring comedy

St. Patrick’s Drama Group is kicking off a five-night run of a rip-roaring, three-act comedy, Pretend Sick, in Scoil Phadraig NS, Altamont Street, Westport, on Sunday, March 23.

The play runs nightly until Thursday, March 27.

Pretend Sick is written by M.J. Ginnelly from Mulranny, who also penned the hugely successful comedy A Wake in the West.

It promises to be a great night’s entertainment as the cast of 12, under the watchful eye of Michael Hughes and Liz Browne, have a variety of roles to play, portraying many aspects of life centering around Katie Logan and the hub of activity that takes place in her kitchen.

St Patrick’s Drama Group has enjoyed great success in the past. They staged A Wake in the West 38 times in venues across the county and beyond from Westport Town Hall, City Hall, Dublin, Turlough House, St Joseph’s, Wembley, and The Irish American Heritage Centre in Chicago.

Tickets for this latest production are €10 and can be booked by calling the box office on (086 ) 860998. Tickets are also available from Dyars Jewellers, Bridge Street, Westport, telephone (098 ) 25558.

Tickets will be available nightly on the door but patrons are advised to book early to avoid disappointment. Doors open at 7 pm and curtains go up at 8 pm sharp.
