On Saturday August 17 the Swinford Show celebrates its Silver Jubilee as it hosts its 25th Show. The show this year has moved to a new venue, namely the PND Business Park which is situated on the Foxford Road.
The show committee chairman Martin Peyton said on behalf of the Swinford Show that they wished to acknowledge the generosity of Pat and Nora Kelly, Derek Kelly of Swinford Motors Ltd and the Kelly family for the use of their premises, and also the generosity and goodwill of local people and landowners in the vicinity of the business park. Indeed, the Swinford Show society is proud of the level of community spirit that has grown up around the show and without which the show would not exist.
Since the first show in 1988, the Swinford Show has continued to grow and develop, and is now firmly on the “must visit” list of agricultural show visitors throughout the west of Ireland and much further afield.
