The Last Waltz comes to life in Castlebar

The Last Waltz was an outstanding rock documentary of the last concert by The Band. Veteran director Martin Scorsese chronicles the most legendary night in rock history. It started as a concert and became a celebration as an unparalleled lineup of rock superstars -- including Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Neil Diamond and Muddy Waters -- take the stage for The Band's 1976 farewell performance.

A collective of some of Dublin's most legendary musicians under the name The Group, who are mostly members of the Butler family, set about the task of recreating the two hour live show in honour of the original concert.

With a cast and crew of more than 30, an 11-piece band, and full brass section, 13 amazing special guests, and archive footage on a giant screen, this spectacular live re-enactment of The Last Waltz is a must for all who love their music.

Tickets costing €25 are on sale now from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and online or from the Royal Theatre Box office on 0818 300 000 or 094 9023111.
