Cór Mhaigh Eó in Newport Church

Cór Mhaigh Eó conducted by Dr Brian Lennon GP, Newport will this year host their Christmas concert in St Patrick’s Parish Church, Newport at 8pm on Sunday night next December 14. Also taking part in the concert as special guests are Paul Eustace (organ ) and Aedín Halpin (flute/recorder ). Admission to the concert is €10 and all proceeds will be presented to the Cuan Modh day centre, Newport.

Christmas dinner

Senior citizens who would like to attend the first ever Cuan Modh Christmas dinner on Sunday December 21 at 2pm are asked to contact committee members. The Cuan Modh day centre will then be closed from December 22 to December 28 for the Christmas break.

Christmas play

Newport Foróige youth club invites you all to come along and support them as they present their Christmas play on Sunday afternoon December 21 in Hotel Newport.

Liam Lawton in concert

Liam Lawton will perform his Christmas concert in the Church of the Holy Family, Kiltimagh at 8pm on Wednesday December 17. Appearing in concert with Liam will be the Cill Aodain Choral Society and the Mayo School of Music Youth Choir. Burns night in Newport

Newport is once again preparing itself for a unique night of Scottish and Irish culture as the Cuilmore branch of Comhaltas launch their 2009 programme on Saturday January 17 with a traditional Burns supper. The event, which will take place in Hotel Newport has already attracted interest from a wide range of people who are interested in the writings of the Scottish Bard.
