Balla students successful in Fashion Flashback

The Balla Secondary School art students came joint second place in the Museum of Country life Fashion Flashback competition. The work was done in their spare time in school. They won a €40 Eason's voucher. The winners were Chloe O'Brien, Chloe Durkan, Rachel Gaughan, Rosemary Dunne, Lauren Mullaney, and Amanda Conroy. Well done also to their art teacher Ms Lisa Sherry.

TY students win MCI Ireland award

Transition year students from Balla Secondary School recently trained as peer educators with MCI Ireland. The organisation addresses the needs of young people who are affected by domestic abuse. The students who took part were Shona Ruane, Shauna Morrison, Niall Gilligan, Shane Gaughan, Cathy Lyons, Alannah Monroe, and Dan Timlin. These students were presented with medals for their work and a trophy for the best film dissemination, and a plaque was presented to the school.

Fundraiser for Balla Secondary School

The parents' council of Balla Secondary School has organised a Stars in their Eyes competition on Thursday, May 9, in Balla Resource Centre. The show begins at 8pm, admission is €10. This promises to be an excellent night, featuring top class entertainment from many local acts. A night not to be missed. Please support.

End of year Mass

End of year school exams Mass for all students of Balla Secondary School and their parents will take place on Sunday May 12 at 11am in Balla Church.
