Ballina is to make an all-out bid to stage the 2016 All-Ireland Fleadh. A crucial meeting will take place in Ballina Manor Hotel on Monday April 15 at 7.30pm to discuss the proposal.
The meeting will be addressed by Michael Fleming, chairman of Moy Valley Comhaltas and Mr Padraig Egan, chairman of Mayo Comhaltas county board. The event was last staged in Ballina in 1997 and 1998.
The Fleadh attracts 200,000 visitors and generates €20 million to the local economy.
Everybody with an interest in the fleadh is invited to attend the meeting.
