Blacksod Point Triathlon

Kilmore Triathlon Club and co-hosts Erris Beo would like to thank all competitors and volunteers who took part in the 2012 Blacksod Point Challenge Triathlon.

Taking the honours for the men was Kevin Thornton, fresh from victory in the Pulse Triathlon last weekend. Eamon McAndrew, Sligo, was second, and Martin Grealish, Predator, was third.

In the hotly contested women’s race, Marie Boland was first, but close behind were Katie Cooke, west Cork, in second, and Rachel Glendon in third.

The combination of an open water Atlantic swim, a fast bike course, and a run course that combines grass, sand, and tarred surfaces with spectacular views of surrounding coastal terrain was enjoyed by all competitors.
