Sudden death of Castlebar businessman shocks community

The sudden death on Tuesday evening of Castlebar businessman, Cyril Flynn, brother of former EU Commissioner Pádraig Flynn, has shocked the people of Castlebar.

Mr Flynn, from Newtown, Castlebar, was an auctioneer in recent years and had an antiques business in the past.

His remains reposed at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, yesterday evening (Thursday ) from 5pm to 7pm before removal to the Church of the Holy Rosary.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated today (Friday ) at noon and his remains will be cremated at a later date.

Mr Flynn is survived by his wife Nancy (formerly of Foxford ); sons Eamonn, Brian and Eoghan; daughter Áine; and brothers Pádraig (Castlebar ), and Brendan (Cork ). May he rest in peace.
