Clew Bay half Marathon 2012

The second annual Clew Bay half marathon will take place on Saturday August 4.

Starting and finishing in Louisburgh (13 miles west of Westport ) on the south coast of Clew Bay, the race will be run over a wonderfully scenic course – surrounded by Croagh Patrick, the Sheefry Mountains, Mweelrea (Connacht’s highest mountain ) the Atlantic Ocean and Clew Bay.

The race itself will be chipped timed by Redtag timing and over 250 entries expected. As per last year, ample car parking will be provided as well as hot shower facilities after the race for all contestants. They can also avail, for free, of the very popular homemade refreshments and hot or cold drinks after the race.

There will be prizes for overall male and female winners as well as category prizes for male and female over 40 and over 50.

Registration will cost €40 per person. The race is being organised as a fundraiser for a local astroturf facility as well as other local charities.
