Westport Fianna Fail meeting adjourned

The June meeting of Fianna Fail’s Westport Town Cumann was adjourned as a mark of respect to the late Jack O’Donnell – a long-standing party stalwart who recently passed away.

Some 40 members of the town cumann had gathered for the June monthly meeting in the Clew Bay Hotel when it was unanimously agreed on opening the meeting, that it would not be fitting to continue in light of Jack O’Donnell’s death the previous week.

Mr O’Donnell, late of Parklands, Westport, was a stalwart of the Fianna Fáil Party who gave a lifetime of commitment to the party.

Tributes were paid to the late Jack O’Donnell by Cllr Margaret Adams and Cllr Brendan Mulroy who were in attendance. Chairman of the Comhairle Dail Ceantair Sean Staunton said that Jack O’Donnell was held in high esteem within the party and in the wider community. A vote of sympathy was passed and extended to the O’Donnell family, Westport.
