County manager in contact with SIPO

County manager Peter Hynes told the monthly meeting of Mayo County Council that he had “no comment” to make on the recent letter that was published by the chairperson of the Standards in Public Office Commission in response to the county manager’s own report into an investigation carried out by the Commission.

The issue of the letter published by the chairman of the committee was raised by Independent councillor Frank Durcan at this week’s monthly meeting.

“I have no comment to make at this time, it is the subject of correspondence between both parties,” Mr Hynes told the meeting. “When that is concluded I will report to the council. I have full intention of complying with any statutory body. When the correspondence is complete I will report back.”
