The Irish Star sent the exact same amount of unwanted gold to three of the most popular gold converters to see who would pay the fairest price. First on their list was www.forgottengold.com who got back the following day with an offer of €140 for what they said was 20 grammes of nine carat gold. Next on the newspaper's list was www.goldparty.ie who offered €140.01 for the exact same amount. One cent better, but better nonetheless. Finally, the paper sent its gold to the company that they describe as, “the leaders in the field and the company with the best reputation for paying fair prices - www.cashforgoldireland.ie” While they were expecting a slightly higher, but similar offer, the newspaper reports being shocked when they were offered, “a whopping €164.24, which is €24.24 more than the others! That’s a staggering 17 per cent more than the others. Cha-ching!”
And the Irish Star's verdict? Journalist Mairéad Nic Giolla Phádraig writes: “If you have gold you don't want, then sell it now. Prices are great and there are very reputable buyers out there as we found out.
