Sixty miles a month clocked up lulling baby to sleep

New research by Pampers has found that some Irish parents can walk up to two miles a day in an effort to lull their baby back to sleep, clocking up more than 60 miles a month. Parents in Mayo were also included in the nationwide survey, with over half of all parents spending at least 15 minutes soothing their baby back to sleep each time.

Sixty-four per cent of Irish parents have cited the lack of sleep as the most stressful part of becoming a new parent with some 70 per cent stating their baby wakes between one and three times each night.

Pampers has created four new age-related bedtime routines, called the Pampers Soothology routines, with its sleep expert Wendy Dean. The routines aim to help ease families through their baby’s ever changing night time needs from nought to three months; four to six months; seven to 12 months; and 12 plus months.
