€195,000 for Mayo Sports Partnership

The Irish Sports Council has announced an allocation of €171,607 to the Mayo Sports Partnership for 2011. The Mayo Sports Partnership has also been given funding of €25,000 for a sports inclusion disability officer from the Irish Sports Council this year.

These grants are part of €5.7 million worth of funding that has been given to 32 local sports partnerships around the country for 2011.    

The national network of partnerships is charged with providing opportunities for participation in sport with particular emphasis on those who face barriers to their participation. It has a broad remit which includes direct programmes provision such as Women in Sport, Get Ireland Active and the An Post Cycle Series.
