A man from Ballyvary was convicted at Castlebar District Court this week for illegally dumping litter.
The litter warden said in court that on November 2 2009 a complaint was made about illegal littering in the Prison Road area between Balla and Ballyvary.
Documentary evidence was found on site belonging to Kieran O’Meara, Brownhill, Ballyvary.
A fine was sent but was not paid. The defendant was not in court.
Judge Mary Devins convicted and fined him €500 and directed that €500 be paid towards the clean up.
