Westport gearing up for this year’s Tidy Town’s competition

The Westport Tidy Towns’ committee is seeking support in dealing with dog fouling and fly-tipping in the town, members of Westport Town Council were informed.

During last Thursday evening’s meeting, the chairperson of Westport Tidy Towns, Pamela Flanagan outlined that the committee are focusing attention on litter problems such as dog fouling and the illegal littering on approach roads of the town. Ms Flanagan also thanked the outgoing town manager Peter Hynes for all his support over the years as he has been “generous with his time, idea,s and resources”.

Cathaoirleach of the town council Myles Staunton said that Tidy Towns is “what makes this town so special and needs to be maintained.”
