Business breakfast is the toast of Mayo

County Mayo business people are set to learn key methods on beating the recession at a special breakfast briefing at the Park Hotel, Kiltimagh, on February 1. Some 100 people from across the west of Ireland are expected to take part in Business Network International’s Big Breakfast 2010 event, to hear business guru Rob Brown spell out 140 ways to beat the recession and build business.

BNI’s area director, Derek Riley, said that the event would equip local businesses to thrive, whatever their size or area of interest. “It’s never been more important for businesses to use every opportunity to stand out and maximise their potential,” he said. “BNI’s whole approach is to enable businesses to develop through a network of referrals and this event – likely to be our biggest of the year – will provide even more opportunity to succeed.”

Keynote speaker Rob Brown is internationally recognised as a business expert. An inspirational speaker, author, and reputation specialist, he will outline to BNI members and guests his strategies to become the number one business choice and how to encourage others to get talking about your business – including more than 140 methods to stand out from the competition. “I’m very much looking forward to supporting local businesses in maximising their opportunities,” he said. “Bring plenty of business cards and information about your business,” he added.

The event at the Park Hotel, costing only €10, is part of a series of BNI Big Breakfast networking events being held at more than 50 venues across Ireland, the UK and a dozen other European countries from February 1 to 5. The events are aimed at demonstrating the effectiveness of word of mouth marketing, referrals, and networking within the business community.

The Big Breakfast event has been tailored to meet the business profile of the area. In common with the other events it will provide a networking session and practical business generation exercises designed to demonstrate how to weather the economic downturn by building and sustaining new business.

Local business people can find out more about the BNI Big Breakfast by contacting the BNI’s regional office on 094 902 1553.
