Mayo Cancer Support receives over €2,000 from Aramark

The Mayo Cancer Support Association will receive a cheque for over €2,000 which was raised through Aramark Ireland’s inaugural Charity Cupcake Campaign. The campaign raised over €8,500 in total for Aramark’s Charitable fund which comprises Action Breast Cancer, the Jack and Jill Foundation, the Mayo Cancer Support Association and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Aramark Ireland’s nominated charities were selected by Aramark employees at the beginning of the year. During the week-long campaign, mouth-watering cupcakes were on sale at Aramark sites throughout the country and visitors were invited to take a break with a tasty cupcake and support their local charity. In the Western region, the Aramark facility in Mayo General Hospital was amongst the units that raised most funds during the campaign.

Angela Kirrane, manager of services, Mayo Cancer Support, said, “We were delighted to be involved in the first ever Aramark Cupcake Campaign and are delighted to receive these much needed funds. It’s great to see the fantastic support for charity from businesses and the general public and I wish Aramark every success with the campaign in years to come.”
