OutWest hosts LGBTQIA seminar for businesses and employers

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Pride celebrations, OutWest is delighted to announce it will be hosting a free LGBTQIA seminar aimed at businesses and employers on June 22 in Knockranny House Hotel, from 2pm to 5pm.

With speakers including Bernadine Quinn (Manager of Outcomers LGBTQIA Services ), Jordan Lapsley and Ciara Wade (Care and Retention Agents with Eir ), Dermot McCarthy (Psychotherapist with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ), discussing their experiences and insights, OutWest stated that the seminar 'will be an excellent opportunity to learn, take initiative, and make progressive steps towards making your workplaces more LGBTQIA inclusive'.

OutWest added: "While it is wonderful to see businesses showing their support and displaying LGBTQIA flags proudly, going the extra mile and educating ourselves in the day-to-day struggles of this community within a workplace, and making a conscious effort to explore ways in how to improve your businesses ethos can be a very meaningful and powerful way of showing your support to your current staff, future staff and the LGBTQIA community as a whole.

"With the above in mind, OutWest invite all local businesses and employers to attend this free event and encourage all who come along to attend with an open mind, to ask questions and to engage in forward-thinking discussions."
