Mayo student’s fashion collection on show

The Irish fashion scene is eagerly awaiting this year’s Peter Mark NCAD graduate fashion show on May 23 in Dublin’s CHQ Building, and for Katriona Flynn from Mayo it will be the first chance to see her final year collection on show in all its glory.

Flynn’s work is inspired by modern architecture while incorporating the use of memories and place association. She has focused on sharp lines and structured shapes as her main theme of her designs. Her aim which she has succeeded in, is to prove that modern design is not emotionless, and that it can create and respond to people’s memories.

The Peter Mark NCAD Graduate Fashion Show is eagerly awaited each year by the fashion world. Famous past pupils include Philip Treacy, Darrel K, and Orla Kiely, other graduates have carved out successful careers with fashion houses Armani, Valentino, and Diesel.
