Exciting line-up of speakers for GMIT Digital West 2021

Leaders in public/private sectors and academia, will share their “Digital Transformation” stories at this free online event

GMIT is delighted to announce an exciting line-up of speakers taking part in this year’s Digital West event which takes place fully online at https://digitalwest.biz/ on Tuesday next January 26 from 10am to 12.30pm, on the theme of “Digital Transformation”.

Hosted by GMIT and sponsored by the Local Enterprise Office (LEO ), experts from the public and private sectors and academia will share their experiences of how their organisations successfully transitioned to digital marketing.

The event will be opened by GMIT President Dr Orla Flynn (10am ), followed by guest speakers Aidan Kilcoyne, Head of Marketing Europe for Paddy Power Betfair; Valerie McTaggart, Lecturer in Global Business Service at IT Sligo; Elaine Moyles, Head of Enterprise, LEO Mayo, and Brid Conroy and Neil Paul from Tertulia Bookshop (tertuliabookshop.com ); Ciara Gallagher (GMIT graduate ), Security and Compliance Technical Specialist, Microsoft Ireland and Brian Hanly, Chief Customer Officer at Emergn.

Noreen Henry, lecturer in IT, GMIT, and Chair of Digital West 2021, said the event is a really excellent opportunity for individuals, businesses and organisations to find out about digital transformation strategies and emerging technologies and techniques such as AI, analytics, automation and cybersecurity.

She said: "We will hear from a mixture of experienced digital transformers with local to national and global perspectives from marketing to cybersecurity, as well as hearing about the various supports that are available to organisations to enable digital transformation.

She added: "Brid & Paul from Tertulia, have availed of the supports provided by LEO to enable the digital transformation of their local business. It is a great opportunity to hear from a diverse panel and have an opportunity to ask those questions that may be holding you back."
