Impact of level five restrictions on Mayo County Council services

Due to the Covid-19 level 5 announcement, Mayo County Council would like to advise members of the public of some changes taking effect.

As providers of essential services, Mayo County Council offices remain open and the services they provide for the county will continue to be delivered. In line with current public health guidance on remote working, an appointments-based service will be in operation where necessary.

Keeping the public's safety in mind, they would encourage you to make every effort to do your business with them online.

Following the guidance laid out in the Framework for Restrictive Measures, the following public buildings and venues will remain closed for the next six weeks: (1 ) Mayo County Council Motor Tax Offices – Services are available online; (2 ) Mayo County Council Libraries - Online services are available; (3 ) Mayo County Council Museums and Art Centres and (4 ) Leisure Centres, Swimming pools and gyms are also closed to the public.

A spokesperson for the council said: "Mayo, still has some of the lowest Covid-19 numbers in the country, let’s keep up our good work during the lockdown period, by staying strong for Mayo. Please adhere to the public health guidelines. Keep washing your hands, maintaining a two-metre distance and wear your mask."
