Mayo Association Dublin award winners announced

The Mayo Association Dublin have announced that some tickets are still available for their annual awards night, which takes place on Friday, February 14, in Dublin’s Ballsbridge Hotel.

A great night of celebration is in store for the presentation of the ‘Virginia Gallagher Mayo Person of the Year’ trophy to Mayo Roscommon Hospice CEO, Martina Jennings, as well as the Meitheal Award to Mayo Ultra Cyclist – Charity Team from Swinford, led by Alan Heaney (Swinford ), that includes Johnathan Verry (Crossmolina ), Gerry Boots (London ), Gary Bigley (Kiltimagh ), Gary Smyth (Kiltimagh ), Derek Kennedy (Bohola ), Conor Jordan (Bohola ), Pat Murtagh (Tubbercurry ), Colm Carney (Bohola ), Pat Bilbow (Kilalla ) and Maurice Dore (Mullingar ); while Swinford’s Cathal Gavin will be the recipient of the ‘Young Mayo Person of the Year’ award.

Mayo Association Dublin have also announced that this year’s charity partner for the event is Western Care Association and all the proceeds from the bumper draw on the night will go to this very worthwhile charity.

During a four-course meal, a fantastic range of raffle prizes will be up for grabs. With MC Henry McGlade interviewing this year’s winners on what the award means to each of them, it is sure to be a fantastic night. Following the awards presentation, guests can take to the floor to dance the night away with Simon Casey and his band.
