Funding announced for CLG Thuar Mhic Éadaigh

Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Seán Kyne, has sanctioned a grant of €28,200 for CLG Thuar Mhic Éadaigh to enable it to build a new skills wall.

Announcing the grant, Minister Kyne said that he was delighted to be in a position to assist this active club as it was obvious that both young and old would benefit. “This sports centre will inspire young children and teenagers to take an active part in sports, which is important for their physical and mental health,” he added.

Michael Ring, Minister of State for Regional Economic Development at the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural, and Gaeltacht Affairs, also welcomed the funding, which has been provided under the Clár Áiseanna Pobail scheme.

“I am very pleased that this funding has been approved to Tourmakeady GAA,” Minister Ring said. “This funding will be used to develop their community sports hall project in Tourmakeady. The funding will be used to develop one whole side of the sports hall as a two-sided outdoor and indoor GAA skills wall for football and one-wall handball.

“This project is a very worthwhile project which will benefit young and old alike in their sporting endeavours and which strongly supports positive physical and mental health,” Minister Ring concluded.
