Man smashed chipper door

A 38-year-old father of four who on being refused entry to Supermac’s, Ballina, caused criminal damage to the front door of the premises, was before Ballina District Court on Tuesday.

At 2.45am on May 15, Jason Wilson, 1 Oakwood Drive, Ballina, who was intoxicated, was refused entry by security to Supermac’s, Pearse Street.

Wilson became aggressive and kicked in the bottom panel of the front door causing €250 worth of damage.

The defendant, who has two previous convictions, had according to his solicitor, John Gordon, attended a house party that night where he drank two bottles of wine and he cannot remember his actions.

Judge Mary Devins convicted and fined Wilson €250 and directed that €250 be made payable as compensation.
