Waiting lists for people seeking Jobseekers Benefit and Jobseekers Allowance in Mayo are still among the highest in the country, according to Mayo Fine Gael TD John O’Mahony.
Deputy O’Mahony has learned that applicants for Jobseekers Allowance in Ballina, Castlebar, and Swinford must wait for over 14 weeks to have their claims processed, while in Claremorris the wait is nearly 11 weeks.
“Fourteen weeks is a long time to be waiting for an application to be processed,” said Deputy O’Mahony.
