Westport town clerk Ann Moore informed Westport town councillors at their recent meeting that a multi-use gaming area site has been identified near the Greenway in Westport.
The site would allow for soccer and volleyball facilities and for a skate board park, drawing and proposals of which will be before the next meeting.
Councillor Martin Keane, who has always advocated a skate park said that he is “heartened to hear this news”.
Town manager Peter Hynes said that the gaming area would be designed to an appropriate standard and has huge potential to attract numerous visitors.
