Farmer off the road for two years after being stopped three times

A farmer who failed to have the correct driving documentation when stopped driving three separate vehicles, was disqualified from driving for two years at Castlebar District Court.

Garda Peter Flanagan said that Patrick Fehilly, Mile Bush, Castlebar, was stopped driving three different vehicles in May, July, and September of 2009, where on the first occasion the defendant had no insurance, driving licence, tax, or NCT, and the car had numerous defects when inspected.

On July 14 the defendant was stopped driving another vehicle by Garda Flanagan and Fehilly had no insurance or driving licence. On September 29 the defendant was again stopped by the same garda. This time, Fehilly was driving a Jeep and he had no driving licence.

Judge Mary Devins convicted and fined the defendant a total of €2,200 and disqualified him from driving for two years.
