The Stunning to brew up a storm at The Royal Castlebar

The Stunning are back! The coolest and most iconic of Irish bands have re-assembled the original line-up and will play at The Royal Castlebar Theatre and Event Centre on December 28. Steve Wall on guitar and vocals and Joe Wall on bass and vocals are joined by Cormac Dunne on drums, Jimmy Higgins on trumpet and percussion and Derek Murray on guitar. Fans of The Stunning can look forward to a set-list of all of their biggest hits. From first single “Got to Get Away” to instant classics “Half Past Two”, “Romeo’s on Fire” and “Brewing up a Storm", The Stunning rapidly became one of Ireland’s biggest bands.

Their debut album Paradise in the Picturehouse reached number one in the summer of 1990. It stayed at number one for five weeks and was the first time a debut album by an Irish band had managed this feat. It went multi-platinum and was to be heard everywhere that year. The Stunning stayed together for seven years and released another number one album as well as a live album. Steve and Joe Wall then decided to re-invent themselves and start all over again. The brothers formed The Walls playing their first gig in Dublin in 1998 having returned a few months earlier from a two-year label stint in London. Their debut album Hi-Lo was released in May 2000 to brilliant reviews and has since outsold gold status in Ireland. The Walls “To the Bright and Shining Sun” was one of the most played songs on radio by an Irish band in the summer of 2003.

Events have since allowed the original members to re-form The Stunning. Anyone who has been to see the band live will testify to their greatness. Whether it's your first time round or whether you're just re-visiting, you are guaranteed a treat. The Stunning are delighted to confirm that Mick Flannery will be their special guest for the evening at The Royal Castlebar. The Cork stonemason turned singer’s “Tomorrow’s Paper” has been getting enormous radio airplay. Mick’s debut album White Lies has entered the Irish charts at number 6 and he has made recent appearances on Ireland AM and The Late Late Show. Tickets can be booked through www.royal.ie, www.ticketmaster.ie, any ticketmaster outlet nationwide or, for the price of a local call, the box office of The Royal Castlebar at 0818 300 000; this number is operational 24/7.
