Retention of Ballina fishery office confirmed

Fine Gael Leader Enda Kenny TD has welcomed confirmation from the Department of Communication, Energy and Natural Resources that the offices of the North West and Western Regional Fisheries offices will remain open.

The two offices located in Ballina and Galway will remain open following representations to protect the offices because of their importance to local tourism and fisheries activities. This was confirmed in a response to a parliamentary question following the publication of the Inland Fisheries Bill 2009 and the impact that it would have on the two important offices.
