Fine Gael spokesperson Michael Ring TD questioned the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform in the Dáil this week in relation to the Garda living quarters in Louisburgh.
Minister Ahern responded by stating: “I have been informed by the OPW, who have responsibility for the provision and maintenance of Garda accommodation, that plans to refurbish the station are at an advanced stage.
“It is anticipated that invitations to tender will issue in the coming weeks and work will commence upon successful completion of the tender process.”
“I am very anxious that the living quarters in Louisburgh would be occupied by Garda personnel so I intend to keep the pressure on the OPW in this regard,” concluded Deputy Ring.
