Mayo native killed in motorway construction accident
A Mayo man was fatally injured on Monday in an on-site accident on the M3 motorway.
Mr Peter McAndrew, from Coolarty, Co Longford and originally from Crossmolina, lost his life during the accident.
Eurolink M3 and Ferrovial-Agroman SIAC JV, the company constructing the M3 motorway, have expressed their “extreme regret” following Mr McAndrew’s death. “The thoughts and prayers of everyone associated with the project are with Mr McAndrew’s family,” the company have in a statement.
The company has set up an internal investigation to establish the facts of what happened and Eurolink M3 and Ferrovial-Agroman SIAC are co-operating fully with two external investigations being carried out by the Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority.
