QED, A new short film by Galway actor, writer, and director Amy-Joyce Hastings - exploring the theme of sacrificial love, and asking the question 'What won't love do?' - has its world premiere at the 29th Galway Film Fleadh.

The film was co-written by Hastings and lead actor Michael O'Kelly (Red Rock ). It also stars Donna Anita Nikolaisen (Fair City ), Norma Sheahan (Handsome Devil ), and Charlene Gleeson (Penny Dreadful ). Hastings' fourth short film as writer/director, it was shot on various locations in and around Dublin.

The Fleadh short film category includes new work from six time Oscar nominee Jim Sheridan and Oscar winner Ben Cleary. "QED may well be batting above its weight in terms of profile and budget," says Hastings, "but in terms of pure storytelling I am confident it will hold its own and am so excited to see it debut in my home festival."
