Fantasy Football top tips for the week

BY THE DON

Week two of the Premier League is on the horizon and that means there are more points up for grabs for Fantasy Football managers and more importantly, positions to be gained in the Galway Advertiser Tribal Leader League sponsored by St Anthony's and Claddagh Credit Union.

So let's get straight to it and impart my top three tips of the week.

Phillipe Coutinho - Liverpool

Anfield's little Brazillian had a wonderful outing at the Emirates last weekend as he plundered two goals for himself as well as creating havoc on the pitch. His performance against Arsenal saw him take top spot on the Fantasy league table with 15 points. I expect Coutinho to accumulate a tidy sum of points this weekend against a Burnley side adjusting to life in the top flight. If he is in your team, make him captain.

Diego Costa - Chelsea

Adored by Blues' fans, hated by pretty much everyone else, the Spanish international came up with the goods on Monday night when he fired home a last minute winner against West Ham. Yes Costa should have received his marching orders at least twice but the snarling striker is always good value for money and I believe he will swat the Hornets aside when Chelsea make the short trip across London to Vicarage Road. Two goals for Costa this weekend is most certainly not out of the question.

Álvaro Negrado - Middlesbrough

This is my bolter for the week. Negrado got off the mark last week against Stoke in his competitive debut and I feel the Spanish hitman will trouble the Sunderland back four in the first Tees-Wear derby for nearly a decade. Trust me the Boro new man will be the hero at the Stadium of Light.
