Moycullen-based Radharc Landscaping Co won two awards at the Bord Bia Amenity Horticulture Awards at the weekend.

The awards recognise and promote excellence across three key sectors while celebrating the industry’s dedication to achieving the highest standards of operation. This year, Bord Bia awarded 28 garden centres, three ornamental growers, and 16 landscape service providers which have successfully achieved the standards as set out by its quality assurance programmes, along with 20 category awards for garden centres, landscape contractors, and nursery growers.

Radharc Landscaping Co was among 16 landscape contractors to receive a Landscape Quality Award, and the company also won a special award for environmental practice. The judges noted: “The business has excellent environmental credentials, all of which are incorporated in a formal policy, while pesticides are well managed so that chemical usage is reduced and there is a strong ethos encouraging recycling opportunities to be maximised.”

Bord Bia’s ‘It’s Garden Time’ campaign continues this year; the initiative aims to encourage the general public to make the most of their gardens throughout the year. For more information see www.bordbia.ie/itsgardentime,
