APCOA chooses Irish Guide Dogs as charity partner

APCOA, a leading supplier of secure parking services, has chosen Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind as its charity partner.

Team members from offices in Galway, Cork, and throughout the Dublin region recently gathered together to kayak down the Liffey and cycle on the road alongside. After the event participants gathered for some well-deserved warm refreshments in a nearby hotel where a raffle was also held as part of the fund raising efforts.

Speaking about the partnership APCOA managing director Neil Cunningham said: “APCOA were delighted to organise such a fun event for our staff and their families in aid of such a worthy cause. We have chosen the Irish Guide Dogs as our nominated charity as it is a charity which we feel we have some compatibility and alignment with in terms of what we do on a day-to-day basis within our parking management and enforcement regime, most notably our efforts to keep footpaths and walkways clear from obstructions and illegal parking, thus making them more accessible to those with visual impairment and disability.”

Speaking at the cheque presentation Sinead O’Keeffe, IGDB commercial manager said: “We are delighted APCOA chose us as their charity partner, more and more companies understand the benefits corporate social responsibility can have on their staff and their community. Employee giving programmes or fundraising events in the office or workplace are a great way to build employee morale, get valuable PR for the business, and help fund our vital work for persons who are vision impaired and for families of children with autism.”
