GMIT to hold three open info events in January

Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology is holding three separate open information events in January, the first in Castlebar on Thursday, January 10, from 7pm to 9pm, the second in Galway on Saturday, January 19, at 11am, and the third in Letterfrack on Friday, January 25, at 1pm.

Leaving Certificate students, mature applicants, parents, and advisors are invited to attend any or all of these events where information will be available on the range of full-time CAO programmes on offer in all GMIT campuses, as well as on part-time accredited and non-accredited courses delivered in GMIT’s two Lifelong Learning centres, at Galway and Castlebar.

GMIT staff and students will be available to talk to prospective students about the CAO process and how to apply, and about all aspects of GMIT student life.

The Galway campus open information day on Saturday, January 19, commences at 11am and will have general information on all programmes in all campuses with staff on hand to answer queries and address any concerns people may have about completing CAO applications.

GMIT’s two Galway campuses offer a broad range of programmes in the disciplines of business, engineering, tourism, and arts and the sciences.

GMIT Letterfrack this year celebrates its 25th anniversary and has been re-designated the National Centre for Excellence in Furniture Design and Technology. The campus is a leading provider of degree programmes related to the furniture industry and post-primary teacher training in technology based subjects. Its open day on Friday January 25 will include a tour and presentation, commencing at 1pm.

The Letterfrack information session will begin with a presentation on all programmes delivered in the campus. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet and talk to staff and students and learn about all aspects of student life on campus. A tour of the facilities will take in the state of the art machine halls where demonstrations will be given on laser machines, CNC technology, robotics, and more.
