St Nicholas’ Annual Christmas Fair this weekend
St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church will hold its Annual Christmas Fair this Saturday from 10am to 2pm in St Patrick’s School Hall.
This traditional event is one of the church’s main fund-raisers of the year, enabling the Parish of St Nicholas to keep this historic Mediaeval building - which dates back to 1320 - maintained for the people of Galway.
There will be a wide variety of stalls selling books to bric-a-brac, delicious treats, home-baking, jars of home-made jam, and bargains on the gift stall.
The door prize this year is sponsored by Dangan House Nurseries with the prize of a Christmas tree up for grabs. There will also be the wheel of fortune, the silent auction, and a top prize of €500 could be won on the raffle. Santa will also be in attendance at the fair.
This weekend also sees the start of Advent and St Nicholas is inviting all Galwegians to a special candle-lit Advent procession on Sunday at 5pm. The Choir of St Nicholas’ will be performing.
