Eat at Massimo, the gastropub located on William Street in Galway has been accepted to the prestigious Euro Toques group of restaurants and has also received a Georgina Campbell recommendation. It is relatively rare for a gastropub to be permitted to join the renowned European Community of cooks and chefs.
Commenting on her recommendation Georgina Campbell said, “JP McMahon and his team have done a huge amount to make Galway a foodie destination again: first the wonderful Cava, then Aniar and now East at Massimo. I think it's just fantastic for Galway to have a pub like this, with all the trademark JP McMahon flair and commitment to showcasing the very best of local and seasonal specialty foods.”
JP McMahon of Eat at Massimo said, “We are thrilled with both of these prestigious accolades which are quite unusual for a pub restaurant to achieve. I think it goes to prove that pub dining can be of a very high quality. The food we serve in Eat is true gastropub fare with seasonality and sustainability key elements in every dish we serve.”
Highlights at Eat at Massimo include gastro pizzas featuring Irish cheeses such as roast potato, carmelized onion and Wicklow Blue cheese, and hunger busters such as Stout Burgers and Rib-eye Steak, creative vegetarian and fresh local seafood dishes. As per the Cava and Aniar restaurants, a philosophy of using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients features strongly, including a policy of using all of the cuts of the animal. Eat at Massimo is a gastro-pub with a difference, serving high quality food at extremely affordable prices.
