Bagging a bargain

Fancy expanding your handbag collection and helping a good cause at the same time? If so, the fundraising Bag Lovers Fest being organised by RehabCare at the Meyrick Hotel, Eyre Square on Sunday November 27 from 12 to 4pm may appeal.

The organisation, which is based at Liosbaun Business Park and caters for adults with mild to moderate learning difficulties, is appealing to people to donate all kinds of bags for the event.

They are seeking everyday bags, evening bags, purses, luggage, baby changing bags, computer bags, even man bags in all shapes, colours and sizes.

Among those who have already donated are RTE’s Eileen Dunne and Audrey McGrath, former TV3 personality Lorraine Keane, Jennifer Maguire from The Apprentice, TG4’s Roisin ni Thomain and Gemma Ni Chionnaith.

A spokesperson for RehabCare says the fundraiser is an ideal way to help declutter your wardrobe as well as indulging your handbag habit.

“Now you too can have the pleasure of expanding your own collection with bags for every occasion and every outfit without the guilt of spending a small fortune.”

Bags can be dropped off at RehabCare 5b Liosbaun Business Park, Galway or telephone Mary Finn at (091 ) 764079 or Ollie Robinson at (087 ) 2437009 for further information or to arrange collection.
